Here at Canine Proficiency Center we have a strong passion for helping dogs and their owners live a happy and balanced life together.
It is important to us that we create a structured environment for the pack setting. With the knowledge of balanced training we have geared our efforts towards providing a safe and controlled environment for your dogs during their daycare or boarding stay. Alongside our daycare and boarding, we offer private one-on-one training for dogs with behaviour issues. We use our training experience and behavioural knowledge when handling and caring for every dog in our care. Visit our Training page for details.

True off-leash freedom in a country setting
Founded in 2019, a local North Bay company filled with dog lovers, providing the best care for your pups away from home. Beginning as a balanced trainer, Dean decided to open a daycare and boarding center. With 3 acres of fenced in yard, we allow your dog(s) to experience true off leash freedom in a country like setting. Endless forest trails for them to explore!
We accommodate dogs with behaviour issues, injuries, senior age, and anything in between.
Indoor comfort
- Our facility is equipped with central air and forced air heating. There are air outtake vents for each room.
- We ALWAYS have a human in the building at all times for consistent supervision (overnight as well).
- The facility uses kennels (crates) for rest periods and overnight sleeping. Open pens are available as well. Each dog receives their own space for overnight boarding unless requested for "siblings" to sleep together.
- Each dog is equipped with bedding / blankets in their kennel for rest time to keep comfy while relaxing.
Outdoor experience
- 3 acres of fenced in yard for your pup to run free off leash.
- Dogs always play outside, rain or shine! We monitor extreme weather and make sure to adapt the schedule to keep the dogs safe and healthy. Extreme weather consists of heavy rain, heat, snowstorms, etc.
- Yard landscape is a nature-type setting with groomed trails and open areas to run free.
- Grass, sand, rocks, trees etc. are all part of the mixed terrain.
Safety & cleaning
- Safety is one of our top priorities. We always have a human in the buildings at all times. Dogs are never left unattended.
- Each dog has their own personal space to relax and we follow a daily routine that becomes familiar to the pups.
- Our property is equipped with video surveillance to allow an added layer of security in and around the building, however dogs are never left unattended.
- Our facility is cleaned thoroughly every day with pet-safe products, with constant cleaning practices and fresh bedding 24/7.

Every dog gets the care they need
At Canine Proficiency Center we are happy to help accommodate different needs of dogs. Between behavioural issues, medical circumstances, senior age and injuries, our team will be sure to provide the proper care and comfort during their stay. There is no extra cost for variable dogs.
Behavioural issues
Here at Canine Proficiency we understand that some dogs have behavioural issues that need to be addressed, such as reactivity, dog aggression, separation anxiety and much more. We are happy to work with you and accommodate your dog's stay based on their needs. Individual time without the pack is available when necessary / upon request. We can also work together on integrating your dog(s) into the pack depending on the extent of your dog(s)' behavioural issues.
Medical
We will gladly administer any medication to dog(s) that require them during their stay at no extra cost. We ask for the medical information / instructions to be written out for boarding stays and if medication is needed for daycare, please inform us in the morning.
Injuries, past or present
When a dog arrives having had a previous injury we ask to be informed of it beforehand, so we can help accommodate their stay according to their needs. We will always monitor the dog's ability, give extra rest periods when needed or give them their own individual time outside.
Senior age
As dogs age, we understand they tend to slow down. As senior age dogs are included in our pack, we also monitor them in case they need extra rest time. We are also able to give individual time outside if needed. We strive to provide a comforting experience for those in their older stages of life.
